The Pub at the Mercato in Naples, FL

http://thepubs.weebly.com/pub-naples.html

For my friends and family that are fleeing the north and the snow and ice, I figured that I'd create some notes of the places to go and not go when you are visiting.

For those of you that like an occasional drink, The Pub is a must. This is an English pub and is wonderfully decorated. There are a few pubs in the area but this one has the best beverage selection. If you go to the link above and check out their menu, you will see 5 pages of beers, English, Scottish, Irish, European, Blended, American and other. You can go every night of the week and get something different. The bartenders also have a sheet of bottled beer selections from Europe that aren't even on the menu.

If you are a scotch drinker, they have an entire page dedicated to single malt scotches and another page for the bourbon drinkers. A bartender offered me a Japanese scotch that wasn't listed on the menu. I already had a drink and I was afraid to ask the price. Maybe next time since as you know I am such a big drinker (lol).

Oh the food. Yes the food is good pub food so you can make it a complete night there. Venita had 2 appetizers which were on special during happy hour, the Tuna, sushi was to die for and the wings were tasty. I tried the shepherds pie which was filling. I've had the burgers there as well and they were good.

If you are going on a Friday or Saturday night, plan on a wait if you are not going early and the seating outside is very nice. The woodwork on the bar is a must see so have a great time and if you are planning on trying the beverages, Yellow Cab can be reached at 239-659-0800 for the ride home.
